Dance students have jumped at the chance to perform their routines to the soundtracks of music’s most legendary performers at the Hall for Cornwall.
The event saw a variety of Cornwall’s primary and secondary schools and Cornwall College take part in the evening’s performance, with the latter putting on an impressive work to Bjork’s song ‘All is Full of Love’.
Jess Leonard, Team Lead for Performing Arts explained that the dancers worked “tirelessly” in the creative period and really took risks in exploring how to express such deep emotion.
“They were highly professional throughout the long day of rehearsing and really did themselves proud in the final performance,” she continued.
“The dancers explored the idea of love in all its forms and drew from their own understanding and experiences to perform the work in front of a packed audience.”
All the students who took part are part of the unique Altitude Dance course based at St Austell Campus.
Altitude Dance gives young dancers the opportunity to work within the professional industry whilst preparing them for their guaranteed place on the Degree programme in Dance and Choreography at Falmouth University, or an application to other dance and music conservatoires.
