One of the leading training restaurants in Cornwall for young people who want a career in the catering industry, has retained its AA College Rosette award, following an inspection by the AA.
Trevenson Restaurant, situated on the Cornwall College Camborne campus, once again hosted AA inspectors who carried out a thorough inspection of facilities, food standards, service and hygiene.
The restaurant, which is part of the highly successful hospitality and catering department, offers both informal lunches and fine dining experiences, presenting a wide range of freshly prepared dishes, using lots of local produce.
Nick Batten, Catering Team Lead, Cornwall College said the team was “delighted to have retained our status as an AA Rosette restaurant”.
“This confirms our commitment and ethos in providing first class service with amazing cuisine and helps cement our position as the best catering college in the South West,” he continued.
“By having state-of-the-art facilities, like our highly regarded restaurant and training kitchens to help train our students, we are able to not only teach essential skills, but also equip our students for the world of employment by helping them to develop in real working environments.”
Nick added that the feedback from customers is “so supportive and positive”.
“This AA recognised rosette will ensure that we keep our current clients and attract new ones,” he added.
The college is also home to Academy Nathan Outlaw, one of the best known local celebrity chefs with two Michelin stars and current winner of the UK’s Best Restaurant in The Waitrose Good Food Guide 2018.
Megan Floyd, Level 2 Hospitality & Catering student explained she has always had a “keen interest for catering.
“It’s great to know that I am acquiring key skills working in an AA Rosette awarded restaurant, which are essential for a successful career,” she added.
