A local college is expanding its hair and beauty facilities to cater to demand, both from students and customers.

Cornwall College Saltash has opened a second Koko hair salon to complement the existing hair and beauty salons.

Koko salons at the College are training centres where students are assessed towards their qualifications in a fully supervised capacity.

All services at Koko are offered to the public at a discounted rate and the expansion of facilities and services is “great news”, according to Level 3 Hairdressing student, Lisa Thorne.

“The facilities here are great and I really enjoy working with the public and putting into practice what we are learning in the classroom,” she continued.

“I was here at college last year on level 2 and returned this year for level 3, the support from the lecturers is fantastic.

“I would definitely recommend studying here if you are looking to get into the hair and beauty industry.”

Team Lead for Hair & Beauty at Cornwall College Saltash, Caroline Reed, said it is “really exciting to be able to expand our facilities due to demand from both customers and students”.

“We offer a wide range of hair and beauty services for the local community at great prices,” she continued.

“With our new on site restaurant, Dynnargh, now open we would like to encourage the local community to book in for a haircut or beauty treatment and treat themselves to a bite to eat after.”

There is a Courses & Careers Advice event on Tuesday 16th October 5 – 7.30pm for potential students to come and meet lecturers and have a look around the College facilities.
