More than 400 attended the event on Tuesday evening looking very glamorous for the prestigious event, which was held in a marquee overlooking Kit Hill and the beautiful surrounding countryside.

This year, the theme for the ball was voted for by students, who chose ‘Masquarade’. There was certainly a mysterious feel to the evening and student chairperson, Sarah Cotton, from Stoke Climsland, said “It was an amazing night”.

“The live acts were fab and everyone had so much fun on the dodgems,” she continued.

The evening’s entertainment kicked off with singer/songwriter Josh Curnow of Britain’s Got Talent fame, followed by a DJ who took over entertaining duties so all of the students could let their hair down and dance the night away.

Student Liaison Officer Mia Giudetti who helped to plan the event said it was a fantastic turnout.

“I would like to thank everyone involved, especially the student committee and all the students who made the evening exceptional,” she explained.

“The summer ball is a wonderful opportunity to get everyone together to celebrate the year. It was a great evening and something the students look forward to.”

Head of Site at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, Rob Dunn said: “It is brilliant that all the students celebrate their achievements by letting their hair down with this amazing event. I would like to thank everyone involved for making this event memorable, something the students will look back on in future years.”
