A wide selection of trade skills can now be learned in short ten week practical courses that will make the perfect Christmas gift for any DIYer.
Whether looking to learn a new skill, or currently working in construction and wanting to upskill, these hands-on courses give people the opportunity to learn useful trades in under three months.
Taught by professional trade’s people in safe purposes built surroundings, all courses take place on Saturday mornings to allow people with jobs or other commitments to attend.
Jim Allen, Cornwall College, Course Tutor said the courses, which have been running for several years, “are hugely popular and they attract a wide variety of participants”.
“The courses are designed to be highly practical so that new skills can be acquired quickly and we provide all the necessary equipment and materials,” he continued.
Lauren Roberts, Saturday Skills Plastering student, said she was looking to develop a new skill set for an up and coming building project.
“I really wanted to focus on plastering and the Saturday Skills course offered the right level of training at a convenient time,” she explained.
“I’ve learnt so much and gained lots of really useful skills. The tutors were all great and the informal atmosphere makes for a fun and enjoyable workshop. I’m now looking at joining another course to further enhance my practical skills.”
Commencing on Saturday 12th January 2019, DIY enthusiasts, people with projects and those already working in the construction industries, can choose from courses including; plastering, brick & blockwork, plumbing, bench joinery and furniture making.
