The business department of Cornwall College is celebrating its students’ best ever results in the 20th anniversary of its university course running.
An incredible 50% of the BA (Hons) Business Enterprise Management cohort received firsts, the highest ever.
Gaby Osborn, Laura Kellow, who has a baby due in August, Abigail Langridge, Jodie Shaw and Karis Matik all got firsts in their courses.
“Including the BA (Hons) Business Enterprise students, an impressive 83% achieved a 2:1 and above, which compares to 24% who obtained a first and 73% who managed a 2:1 or first nationally,” said Dr Bryan Mills, the highly experienced business lecturer and senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
“It’s a fantastic achievement for the students and is testament to their hard work and dedication to their studies,” he continued.
“They are now in a fantastic position to take on the world of business in any number of ways and make a name for themselves or the companies they choose to set up or work for.”
Dr Mills added that it was wonderful to be able to offer people living in Cornwall one of the best business learning experiences in the UK.
“We are rightfully proud as a department for the level of teaching we provide our students,” he said.
“They receive unrivalled time with their tutors and it’s a highly personalised experience, something many people don’t receive when they attend larger universities with 200 people crammed into a lecture theatre. This is one of the best ways to secure a successful start and long term career in business, and I would recommend anyone who is interested to contact us. This September they could be taking the first steps on their journey to an incredibly successful career.”
