A career in marine engineering can literally open up a world of opportunity for you. Our students leave us for a host of careers across the world, working on superyachts, in various dockyards and serving in the merchant navy.
Our specialist marine engineering workshop includes onboard and outboard engines, hydraulic systems, thrusters and generators from leading marine brands, giving you access to the most up-to-date equipment on the market.
In our full-size marine engine control room you can experience all areas of maintenance such as hydraulics, electrical and cooling systems, getting you ready for working in the industry, at home or abroad.


Ave. starting salary for qualified engineer

After I completed my course I went straight into work as a flotilla engineer with Greek Sails. If you would like to work in the sector I highly recommend Falmouth.

Marine Engineering Diploma

Level 2 • Full-time • Falmouth Marine School

If the possibility of a career at sea – filled with challenges, job satisfaction and travel appeals to you, then maybe you should consider studying to become a marine engineer. The course is predominantly a practical based programme. Focusing on giving learners the ability to service and maintain a wide variety of marine in board and outboard engines, alongside the propulsion systems commonly found in most marine vessels. The workshop at Falmouth marine school is one of the largest marine specific training areas in the U.K, alongside a wide variety of specialist tools to perform maintenance and diagnostic processes on our industry endorsed equipment. At level two, the course is focused around servicing and maintaining of marine mechanical systems and components. Successful completion of this programme will allow learners to progress onto the marine engineering level three course.
