“I have always wanted to study Marine Biology and Falmouth Marine School was the only place in the country that offered this course so I relocated. The course is located in an amazing place and the tutors and other students really helped me to settle in. Alongside my National Diploma I have gained a diving qualification, RYA powerboat and I’m now a qualified marine mammal medic. I have been accepted for a Masters in Marine Biology at the University of Essex and before I start I have secured a seven week internship with the Turtle Foundation in Cape Verde Islands”. Lauren Pestana Internship with The Shark Project
At Falmouth Marine School I had the chance to do some great field work in some really scientifically interesting areas. I got to move to the other side of the country and meet new people who were interested in the same things as me. I love sharks, so to be given the support to collect my own specimens was an excellent experience.
