Incorporating the world-renowned City and Guilds Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Boatbuilding, our Boatbuilding, Restoration and Repair is a course full of challenge and reward.
As a Level 3 course, this diploma is all about preparing you for a future in the marine industry and perfecting your essential boatbuilding skills.
During the course you will spend a great deal of time in our dedicated boatbuilding workshops where you’ll hone your skills on live boat projects.
You’ll be learning from experienced professionals who are there to give you the very best start to your career and the time you will spend working on our live boat projects is invaluable to the development of your skill level and abilities.
You’ll be looking at all the aspects of boatbuilding, from simple re-finishing, repairs and restorations to new-build projects; you’ll undertake surveys, write reports, speak to customers, source and cost materials and labour charges etc.

What You Will Learn
You will learn about the shape and designs of boats, the materials used in boat construction, the components and systems that go into traditional and modern vessels and the specific terminology used within the marine industry.

You’ll be ready to move directly into employment or self-employment as a boatbuilder, or you may even choose to follow other specialist roles such as Yacht Surveyor.
Alternatively, you may decide to progress to Higher Education and one of the many Marine focused degree courses that are available.
