Zoo Animal Management Diploma

Cornwall College Newquay LEVEL: 3 Wildlife Conservation & Zoology

We’ve all been on a day out at the zoo and seen the vast number of animals on display, but zoos are no longer simply collections of animals for people to visit, they play a vital role in carrying out conservation work. Captive breeding programmes, protecting endangered species, and inspiring the next generation to care and protect these animals, are all essential tasks zoos carry out on a day to day basis and you could play a vital role in this important work. We work in partnership with Newquay Zoo to ensure you gain the practical, real-life experience that employers look for.

We offer two options for you to start your studies in zoology depending on your GCSE results. Our Level 3 course offers you the choice of university study or employment on successful completion of your course. Our Level 2 course is ideal should your GCSE results not be what you expected, with the option to progress to Level 3.

There are one and two year options available with the Level 3 pathway and we will work with you to decide which is best for you.

This course is for those who have a genuine commitment to work with and study animals. Students get first-hand experience of handling and observing animals in captivity and natural habitats. You need to be enthusiastic and committed to hard work, especially during the less glamorous aspects of the course.
