The course is for those who have a genuine commitment to work with and study animals. Students get first-hand experience of handling and observing animals in captivity and natural habitats. You need to be enthusiastic and committed to hard work, especially during the less glamorous aspects of the course.

You have a passion for zoology and would like a career working in animal husbandry, behaviour or conservation.
Three GCSEs at grade C or 4, including two of English, mathematics or science, or an equivalent qualification and a suitable reference.
From a variety of units giving you a broad range of knowledge about the health, handling, biology and management of animals.
Your assignments and projects to be assessed throughout the course as well as externally set exams.
The diversity of classes held at Newquay Zoo, Blue Reef Aquarium or our classrooms at Tolcarne beach. You’ll also have the opportunity to broaden your horizons with a life changing trip to Africa.
An Advanced Technical Extended Diploma with the option to specialise in Wildlife & Zoo Animal Management or Animal Husbandry & Science.
