This three year programme is designed to provide you with a firm grounding in the science, technology and business applicable for a career in the marine sports sector.
This programme can also be studied as a one year top-up from a relevant foundation degree, where you will complete Year 3 only.
Based at our main Cornwall College Newquay campus, and at our premises on Tolcarne Beach in Newquay, you will have the opportunity to study a number of different modules relating to the ocean environment in which you practise your sport, including research into issues arising from the environmental impacts of marine sports and contemporary issues relating to the practice and development of a variety of marine sports.
As an academic course you will study a range of modules reviewing current practice and literature, and you will complete an Honours project culminating in a dissertation enabling you to become an expert on a topic of interest to you.
Alongside this you will explore the essential business, management, transferable and soft skills, which are key to graduate level employment.
Sustainability of marine sector sporting activities and environmental awareness will be considered alongside new and developing technology in the industry.
This programme will be taught in a variety of modes including lectures, practicals, workshops and block delivery involving industry expertise as much as possible. Assessment is via a combination of assignments, presentations, exams, case studies and practical work.
