This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to train on the job and gain a nationally recognised qualification in Health and Social Care.
You must have good interpersonal skills, respect for people who use the service, good verbal and non-verbal communication skills and a suitable level of fitness to perform some aspects of the job.
This is a follow on course from the Level 2 Health and Social Care Apprenticeship and supports those working in a variety of roles e.g. senior healthcare support worker, senior healthcare assistant, care officer, care supervisor, senior care worker, supervising care worker, senior support worker, relief team leader, social work assistant, social services officer, community outreach/support worker, family support worker or personal assistant.

You would like to work alongside your studies and gain a Level 3 qualification.
There are no required qualifications to enrol on this apprenticeship; however you need to be employed within the health and social care sector and be aged 16 or over.
You must have completed the Level 2 Health and Social Care Apprenticeship or have the relevant experience.

You will attend lectures at the Camborne campus 1 day per week for 18 months, while the remainder of the week is spent in the workplace.
During this apprenticeship, you will build onto your Level 2 diploma and develop advanced skills in the health or social care area. You will have the opportunity to select units to suit your job e.g. care planning, dementia care, supporting people with learning disabilities, pressure area care, infection control and moving and handling.
You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent at the tasks you do every day, while receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.
Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF)
With a Level 3 Diploma, you may progress to a more senior position e.g. social care worker, care home manager or other supervisory care positions.
In the future you may be interested in further study with one of our degree courses.
