Altitude Dance Training Programme
Do you love to perform or create movement? Have you had a lifelong passion for dance? Perhaps you’ve been dancing since you were five years old, perhaps you are just beginning your journey and wish to explore an inherent talent and desire to explore dance further?
Our Altitude dance programme at our St Austell campus has a renowned reputation, which has enabled students to progress to some of the most prestigious dance schools and conservatoires in the country or even directly in to the industry. Our outstanding facilities include The Keay Theatre, professional, heated & sprung dance studios, as well as other rehearsal and performance spaces.
If you are considering a career in the dance industry then we offer you the choice of three specialist courses, all of which are equivalent to A-levels. Our Level 2 Performing Arts course is ideal should your GCSE results not be what you expected, with the option to progress to one of our Level 3 diplomas. Full time Level 3 UAL Dance vocational training programme, or ‘Altitude’ (equivalent to 3 A-Levels), or if you are considering studying A-levels there is the option to achieve a UAL Dance diploma across two years of study.
The dance programme is geared towards preparing young adults for the industry and therefore the course replicates a working dance company. This means learners are prepared for what is expected within both Higher Education and the dance world.
Learn exhilarating subjects such as Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Urban, Movement, Rehearsing, Performing and Choreography. Take part in daily dance technique classes which incorporate strengthening exercises to keep you strong! You will also have access to optional acting and music lessons.
With such diverse subjects on offer, students have the opportunity to explore and develop a variety of styles and skills to assist them with their onward journey as a dance practitioner or related field.

You are interested in developing all styles dance, choreography or fitness and would like to develop a range of skills enabling you to explore various dance careers including: performing, teaching, choreography, movement therapy, fitness etc.
Four GCSEs at grade 5, including English and mathematics. Successful selection is also based on interview and an audition.
Through a range of exhilarating units covering subjects such as rehearsing and performing, choreography, ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, urban practice and movement.
Daily practical dance technique classes which incorporate strength and fitness related practice, together with creative project work. Students will also be required to complete theoretical assignments as part of the course which deepens their understanding of the subject and maintains a high standard of literacy skills, helping to prepare them for university and industry.

Employment in the dance and movement related industries or continue your studies at a specialist dance university or conservatoire.
Jake Moyle Dance DiplomaAfter completing the dance diploma Jake was offered a place at the London Studio Centre where he trained in dancing, singing and acting. Since graduating in 2014 Jake has worked on various commercials including the House of Fraser Christmas advert, been a backing dancer on the X Factor and is a dancer on Mary Poppins Returns starring Emily Blunt.
