As a qualified mechanic you could work in an amazingly diverse industry, whether servicing, repairing, working managing a fleet or as a mobile specialist, once qualified there are lots of career opportunities. Modern technology means you won’t just be working with sockets, wrenches and pliers to repair engines, with modern cars now requiring computer diagnostics for fault finding and repairs you will become familiar with the latest technology, repair techniques and testing.
We offer a range of professional qualifications and training that will allow you to become a qualified mechanic, whatever level you start at. Level 1, 2 and 3 need to be achieved to be fully qualified.
This one-year introduction to light motor vehicle (cars) will explain to you the systems, components and terminology used in the industry.

Two GCSEs at grade 4 or above in English and maths. If you do not meet these entry requirements, we do offer an Entry Level 3 qualification for one year that will then allow you on to this diploma.
By gaining an introduction to all the systems of a car, how they work and how they interact with one another, you will be prepared for the more specialised practical repair, installation and diagnostic elements of further qualifications.

The Level 2 maintenance and repair diploma, other motor vehicle pathways such as service technician or HGV specialist. You will also be able to move into an apprenticeship if you can gain a workplace with employer support.
