Cornwall College Camborne | St Austell | Saltash LEVEL: 3 Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy

As a hairdresser your job is to make people look amazing! From cutting and colouring to styling and consulting with your clients, as an apprentice you will be learning how to do all of these things while at the same time building up a rapport with clients and showing off your lively personality. The great thing about being an apprentice is that you will also be earning money at the same time!

To ensure you gain all the skills needed for a career as a hairdresser, you will need to start your apprenticeship at Level 2. On successful completion you can go into employment or continue on to our Level 3 advanced apprenticeship.

Our courses will put you on the road to a great future; we have developed our qualifications in partnership with industry professionals to ensure the knowledge you gain is not only relevant and current, but will set you apart in the workplace. Throughout your studies you will learn by completing practical activities and assessments based on professional real-life scenarios in our Koko commercial training salons. You’ll get the chance to take part in competitions, fashion shows and get some masterclass insights from visiting professionals.

PROFILE

Carla Fairburn Manager & Co-owner Inkfish Falmouth

Carla started her hairdressing apprenticeship 15 years ago at Inkfish Truro and is now the co-owner of Inkfish Falmouth.
"Starting as an apprentice to becoming co-owner has been a great journey; it’s something I’ve always dreamt of. Being in a good salon working with a good team, with great training and being passionate about the job, I’ve grown to love it. We have apprentices in the salon now and that’s important to us and them because they gain real life experience with the customers. Watching the stylists do their jobs really helps them out, it’s faster learning and also they can earn while they learn, which is great for them being young. Getting a wage and learning at the same time, what’s not to like?”
