If you are thinking about pursuing a career in the beauty therapy industry.
GCSE English and maths at grade 4, or an equivalent qualification.
We recognize that applicants without these qualifications can often offer a high level of competence as well as life experience and we will therefore consider all applications on their merits alongside their qualifications.
If you are aged 16-19 without the required grades, you will need to continue to develop your Maths, English and Employability skills as a part of your study programme.
If you are unsure as to whether or not you meet the requirements, please call the department and ask to speak to the course manager who will be happy to discuss it with you.
You will be learning in our purpose-built salons, training in a commercial environment and learning beauty therapy techniques from industry professionals.
You'll develop a foundation of beauty therapy skills in areas such as face and skin analysis, hair removal treatments, manicure, pedicure and make-up, light cured gel polish as well as the principles of practice for Beauty Therapists.
You will also gain the basic knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology for beauty therapists.
Regular tutorials and demonstrations from teaching staff to embed your knowledge, giving you the confidence to practice beauty therapy in paid employment.

It is always an advantage to offer as many different treatments as possible to your clients, so once you have achieved your Level 2, we would recommend that you enhance your knowledge base and develop your skills by progressing on to the Advanced Technical Diploma in Beauty Therapy Level 3 course at Cornwall College.
