Barbering Diploma Level 3

Cornwall College Camborne LEVEL: 3 Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy

If you are already qualified to a level 2 standard and looking to upgrade your qualification, then this course will help you to progress in your career as a barber. Not only will you develop your existing skills but you will also learn how to design and create a range of facial hair shapes and provide shaving services.

Our courses will put you on the road to a great future; we have developed our qualifications in partnership with industry professionals to ensure that the knowledge you gain is not only relevant and current, but will set you apart in the workplace.

Throughout your studies you will learn by completing practical activities and assessments based on professional real-life scenarios in our commercial training salons. You’ll also get the chance to  get some masterclass insights from visiting professionals.

If you don’t currently have the skills or experience needed to undertake this Level 3 course we also offer Barbering Diploma Level 2, which upon completion will allow you to progress to Level 3.

You’ll need:

Applicants for this course will require Barbering level 2, Hairdressing level 2 or equivalent. As with all courses, enthusiasm and motivation are both necessary to succeed on this course.

We recognise that applicants without these qualifications can often offer a high level of competence as well as life experience and we will therefore consider all applications on their merits alongside their qualifications. 

If you are 16-19 you will be expected to continue developing your Maths, English, employability, and work experience skills as a part of your study program. 

You’ll learn:

From creatively cutting hair using a combination of barbering techniques, designing and creating a range of facial hair shapes, providing shaving services, advising and providing client consultation, you will be training to industry standard. 

As well as the practical knowledge that you will gain from working on the job, our team of industry trained professionals will guide you through the theory offering their advice and demonstrating techniques.

In addition to the main qualification you will be expected to attend a work placement in a barbers to gain experience and knowledge of employability skills and expectations of being a part of a team in this industry.

Expect:

To be hands-on from the first week. Learning in purpose-built salons, you will be training in a dynamic and commercial environment.

Opportunities exist for barbers throughout the UK as well as overseas in holiday resorts, cruise ships and major airlines. Dan Blackwell Barber Clique

After 11 years working in industry, Dan decided on a career change and joined the Barbering Diploma Level 2. During his studies the head barber of Clique came into the College to do a demonstration, he saw the way Dan cut hair and told him to speak to the owners about getting a job. Dan did just that and is now one of their in-house barbers.
