You wish to train on the job and upgrade your current barbering skills, increasing your knowledge and experience.
GCSE English and mathematics at grade C or 4 and a Level 2 hairdressing or barbering qualification.
Excellent industry-level skills such as advanced design and create patterns, provide shaving and facial massage services and creative fashion-led cutting techniques. You will also be involved in hairdressing consultation services and promoting services or products to clients.
To study the underpinning knowledge alongside practical barber sessions. You will attend lectures at college one day per week while the remainder of the week is spent in the workplace. You will put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you are competent in the tasks you do everyday while receiving support from experienced Cornwall College tutors.
The industry focus of this course, working in a fast-paced and creative environment.
Employment on management level, own your own barber shop or work on film sets. You may decide to progress onto further studies on our Hair & Beauty Management Diploma Level 4.
Traci French Team Lead - Hairdressing
Traci has over 25 years' experience working in the hair and beauty industry, working in Bristol and Truro as a stylist, senior stylist and salon manager. Traci now leads the hairdressing lecturing team at Cornwall College and also manages the commercial training salon, koko, at Cornwall College in Pool.
