If you are interested in these areas then this practical two year course in photography will be perfect to enable you to turn that photography passion into a career.
You will work on projects that are written to allow you to develop skills in both digital and analogue processes across a range of photographic applications. By the end of the course you will have a diverse portfolio to take to employers, universities or to show clients.

You are a creative individual and want to have a career in the photographic industries working as a photojournalist, digital retoucher for events, studio, fine art, fashion photographer, or any other area within the sector.
Four GCSEs at grade C or 4, including English and mathematics. We also accept equivalent qualifications e.g. a completed Level 2 Diploma.
From practicing professional photographers fusing passion, creativity and commercial production. Students will explore a range of photographic applications such as landscape, portrait, wildlife, fashion, events, fine art. Whilst learning new applications you will be introduced to studio lighting, shooting on location, photographic products, stop-motion animation, the creation of photographic books as well as learning how to exhibit your work. You will learn to express your photography through both traditional darkroom and digital image making, including Adobe Creative Suite.
Students will have access to a wide range of professional equipment, allowing them to focus on their own photographic projects. The kit includes Nikon D3200 and Canon 600D digital cameras, Go Pros, as well as a range of film cameras including Pentax and Sigma SLRs, a Mamiya RZ67 Pro ii, and a 5x4 camera, a range of film, flashguns, studio flash and tungsten, photography studio, television studio with green screen, darkroom facilities, the full adobe creative cloud suite, all of which is available to our students to hire at no cost.
You will be working with the creative futures team on live briefs with real clients and will be taken out on location for photographic shoots. Local and internationally renowned practitioners will be invited in for guest lectures and practical workshops to enhance your knowledge of the subject. During the first year of the course students will undertake a two week intensive set build project. This will involve them pitching ideas, building and decorating a set, hiring models before lighting, shooting and editing the final image.

Employment in the industry or university study on courses like Press & Editorial Photography, Fashion Photography, Marine & Natural History Photography, Commercial Photography or Photography and Video. You will have the skills and experience to be confident in the use of most photographic and digital processes and will have a portfolio of photographic work that will support your application to any area that suits your talents and preference.
