If you want to work in television, film, journalism, advertising, radio, web design or animation then our award-winning media department can help you achieve a bright career. Our former students are now working all over the world as camera operators, film directors and producers on exciting projects such as Star Wars films, American Idol, The X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and more.
We offer two options for you to start your studies in the media and film industry depending on your GCSE results. Our Level 3 course offers you the choice of university study or successful employment on completion of your course. Our Level 2 course is ideal should your GCSE results not be what you expected, with the option to progress to Level 3.
If your passion is film and TV and you have an interest in the media, then this Level 2 course is for you. During this one year course you will experience what it’s like behind the scenes and discover what opportunities there are in these exciting industries. With lots of practical sessions, workshops and guest speakers you will learn how to operate cameras, use industry standard editing software, produce your own TV projects, videos and enhance your writing skills for journalism careers.

Rory Mason Team Lead - Digital Media
Rory has worked at the College for almost 15 years, after graduating with a broadcasting degree he worked in the media industry in a range of different production roles. Rory pioneered the College's Film School project, an annual two-week intense programme that produces some award-winning student films. They've won 30 awards in the last 10 years, including a notable victory in the SW Royal Television Society 'Undergraduate Comedy and Entertainment' category in 2014, beating third year degree students to the main prize!
