If your passion is film and TV and you have an interest in the media, then this course is for you. During this one year course you will experience what it’s like behind the scenes and discover what opportunities there are in these exciting industries. With lots of practical sessions, workshops and guest speakers you will learn how to operate cameras, use industry standard editing software, produce your own TV projects, videos and enhance your writing skills for journalism careers.

Ideal if:

You’ll need:

four GCSEs at grade D or 3, including English or mathematics.

Through a combination of written assignments and practical projects; you’ll learn to use video cameras and editing software, investigate computer games, create advertisements for print and TV, and develop your writing skills for newspaper and magazine journalism.

Rory Mason Team Lead - Digital Media

Rory has worked at the College for almost 15 years, after graduating with a broadcasting degree he worked in the media industry in a range of different production roles. Rory pioneered the College's Film School project, an annual two-week intense programme that produces some award-winning student films. They've won 30 awards in the last 10 years, including a notable victory in the SW Royal Television Society 'Undergraduate Comedy and Entertainment' category in 2014, beating third year degree students to the main prize!
