The ResM is a postgraduate degree awarded by Plymouth University. It is delivered in Cornwall and has full-time and part-time routes.

The research at the heart of the ResM programme is tailored to individual interests and commonly involves working with an industry partner.

Indicative research topics for ResM (Biological Sciences) are:
– Infrared thermography as a tool in welfare assessments in animal rescue centres
– Seasonal variations of microplastic contamination in estuaries
– Impacts of invasive species on native biodiversity
– Indicator species and conservation grazing

In common with other postgraduate research degrees, the ResM culminates in the examination of a thesis based on a period of extended research. Two taught modules equip you with the appropriate level of research skills.

The ResM is delivered through the Duchy College node – a research node of Plymouth University’s School of Biological and Marine Sciences. All ResM students are supervised by staff based at the Duchy Stoke, Eden Project or Newquay campuses. Students are co-supervised by Plymouth University staff.

Full and partial fees bursaries may be available, please contact Dr Peter McGregor for more information and eligibility criteria on 0330 123 2523 or email: peter.mcgregor@cornwall.ac.uk.
