The Level 2 Diploma in Care is an occupational qualification for learners who work in Health and Care. The qualification provides the knowledge and skills for workers who have roles with responsibilities for delivery of care and support such as:
- Adult Care Worker
- Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker
- Personal Assistant

There is no minimum qualification to go into this course but you do need at least 6 month experience in a care setting.
This qualification consists of mandatory units covering core knowledge and skills competencies with optional specialisms which can be are combined in flexible ways to reflect the real working context of different learners. This is supported with monthly workshops in Camborne and St Austell campus. Also you are allocated an Assessor to support you throughout the qualification.
The content of the mandatory units covers person centred approaches, communication, personal development, equality and inclusion, handling information, duty of care, responsibilities of the role, safeguarding, and, health, safety and wellbeing. There are also optional units to tailor-made your qualification to your individual role.
You would be expected to attend monthly workshops either at Camborne or St Austell campus. This is to ensure you have the underpinning knowledge for the course.
The opportunities for progression is onto the City & Guilds level 3 Diploma in Adult Care. This will enhance your opportunity to become a senior care assistant.
