This apprenticeship programme has been designed to offer you the opportunity to develop your management skills and knowledge whilst gaining a recognised professional development pathway ultimately leading to Chartered Manager status.

Ideally you will be working as a departmental manager and someone who manages teams and/or projects, and achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisations strategy usually accountable to a more senior manager or business owner.
Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring.
On-programme for this apprenticeship includes a period of learning and development managed by the employer and training provider. The learning will be built around competencies and skills as set out in the standard. The knowledge, skills and behaviours that will be developed during the on-programme learning will include:

You will also develop your behaviours in being taking responsibility, being agile, inclusive and professional.
Regular performance, milestone and progress reviews will be continuous throughout the training.
Workshops delivered by industry experts with current knowledge, skills and experience within their specialist areas. Ongoing support from a team of highly qualified mentors/coaches to prepare for end point assessment as the successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.

Learners who upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship Standard Operations/Department Manager level 5 may have the opportunity to progress into:
- An enhanced job role using the skills developed throughout the programme
- Further courses to develop management and leadership skills including Chartered Manager Degree Appenticeship Level 6
- Opportunities for further study specialising in areas such as HR, Marketing, and Finance.
